The medium-sized, mixed breed female dog was found on Porter Street in Granby in the evening of Tuesday, April 4, according to the MSPCA.

The pup was in rough shape, but was transferred from Granby Animal Control to the MSPCA’s Boston Adoption Center, where she is now recovering.

“It was clear when the dog came to us that she needed help,” explained MSPCA-Angell Director of Adoption Centers and Programs, Mike Keiley. “She was underweight and hurt, but while in our care she is improving daily.”

The MSPCA asks that anyone with information about the dog's owner call its Law Enforcement hotline at (800) 628-5808.

The incident remains under investigation.
